The Sozopol Seminars are where literary texts and friendships are made. The place we love to return, meet, and work.

Participants often describe the Sozopol Seminars as a life-changing experience that encourages new talents, helps established authors grow their careers, creates valuable contacts, and provides a direct channel for the international dissemination of contemporary Bulgarian literature.

During a three-day intensive program, selected Fellows have the opportunity to deepen their writing by sharing experiences with peers and receiving guidance from established authors and speakers.

The next edition of the Sozopol Seminars is set for 2025. Stay tuned to our communication channels for updates on upcoming open calls.

Our premier literary event since 2008 unites writers, publishers, editors, translators, and literary professionals from Bulgaria and the world. Ten emerging writers earn fellowships through a competitive selection process.

Alongside workshops, the program features guest lectures and informal roundtables covering various aspects of the book publication, engaging with literary agents, editors, translators, and publishers.

"Being a Sozopol fellow in 2018 was a dream: I could not have imagined a more genuinely generous, supportive and vibrant writing community."

— Jo Langdon, 2018 Sozopol Seminars Fellow.
